PCSodar's Input Signal display provides an oscilloscope-like representation of the strength of the signal returned for each transmit pulse from various heights. In this plot, height increases from left to right. Zoom In, Zoom Out, and scroll capabilities allow the user to view any portion of the input signal in detail. This example is typical for normal operation. The heavy black area on the left represents a strong signal at the lower heights. The signal strength decreases with increasing height towards the right. This display is very useful for detecting system electrical noise and/or ambient noise (either of which may reduce system performance), or system malfunction in the receive section of the Model VT-1.
