MakeTone

The SodarTools MakeTone screen is shown below.  MakeTone is run on a notebook computer.  Its purpose is to generate a constant tone with a 1-Hz accuracy, which can be used to test the sodar frequency response.  Certification of MakeTone is performed using a certified frequency counter.  MakeTone can generate tones in 1-Hz steps, which is useful for testing the sodar sensitivity.

In testing the sodar with MakeTone, the user sets the sodar tilt angle, reference (transmit) frequency, output frequency and vertical correction option.  A Frequency Offset adjustment is also available for calibrating MakeTone.  MakeTone also provides the expected component output values which should be generated by the sodar for a given test signal.
