If the sodar computer is connected to the Internet, PCSodar can be configured to automatically email the current IP address and daily data file to a designated email address. The IP address is emailed each time PCSodar is started. Also, in case a wireless Internet connection is in use and the IP address is non-static, the IP address is emailed to the specified email address each time the address changes. The daily data file can automatically be emailed to the user each day at midnight. The graphic shown below is an example of the menu presented to the user to configure the Internet options.
To maintain the Internet connection, a specified address is "pinged" at each sodar averaging interval. The ping fail count, email error count, email communications status and current IP address are provided to the user to show the status and quality of the Internet connection.
